    every thursday

Improv Lounge Jam Sessions – live from the basement, every Thursday!

Come along with your instrument (or just yourself) and get stuck into a relaxed night of jamming. Whether you're here to play or just enjoy the tunes, everyone's welcome.

To keep these sessions free to attend, we just ask that you support the night by grabbing a drink or a bite while you're here – every purchase at the bar helps us keep the jams going.

No need to drink alcohol if that's not your thing – we've got loads of soft drinks and some cracking empanadas too.

    See you down there!

    - Bring your own instrument, or use what’s provided (keyboard, drums, guitar, percussion, microphones and PA).

    Night of the Mayvens!

Gather in a summer garden for Loafmas, a celebration of growth, wheat and nature’s life force!

With the moon and the sun above us in the long evenings, it’s time to bask in the golden glow of summer, enjoy the rich soil of sisterhood and turn our creative blooms towards the sky and each other.

Using songs, storytelling and comedy, we will create an evening exploring women’s experiences ranging from the sinister to the sensual, the divine to the downright daft. Join us in joy, rage and celebration as we rejuvenate and invigorate!

    sunday 28/09/2025

William Patrick Owen is a singer songwriter from east London who crafts a distinctly meditative and dreamy brand of contemporary folk music. His latest album, ‘Blossoms Invite the Butterfly’, is an act of generosity, an offering of a melancholy yet tender compassion.

Written over a period of around ten years, the album consists of eight gentle and tender songs that glide through the various chapters of life, from birth through adolescence to maturity and death. It is set in a naturistic and earthy ambience, with birdsong, the sound of walking, cicadas and children’s play fluttering in and out of consciousness.

His songwriting is influenced by 60s songwriters like Nick Drake and John Martyn, as well as contemporary new folk artists like Sufjan Stevens, Adrienne Lenker, Grouper and Florist. The fingerpicking guitar playing is informed by classical, primitive and americana artists, including James Blackshaw, Six Organs of Admittance and Jim O’Rourke. The lyrics emanate from Owen’s Buddhist practice, as well as his interest in the spiritual poetry of Ryokan, Rumi and Rilke.

Leti is a London-based singer-songwriter crafting alternative pop songs woven with jazzy harmonies, rich backing vocals, and introspective, poetic lyrics. Inspired by non-dual spiritual traditions, her work explores themes of self-enquiry, presence in the everyday, and social awareness.

Her music has been featured on Swiss national radio and TV, and has found its way onto chill evening playlists—perfect for winding down, reflecting, and sinking into stillness.

Her journey as an artist includes navigating early challenges in the music industry, taking time away to heal, and returning with a renewed sound and creative confidence. A passionate advocate for self expression, authenticity, well-being, and age diversity in music, Leti champions artists over 30 and a more sustainable creative life.

Alongside her solo work, Leti leads voice and songwriting circles—including at Glastonbury Festival—creating inclusive spaces for expression and connection.

She holds a Distinction in Songwriting from ICMP London, where she is now completing a second MA in Creative Music Production.

    friday 07/11/2025

Experience a night of deep groove, open improvisation, and expansive sonic textures.

The trio of Sheldon Agwu (electric guitar), Max Luthert (upright bass & modular synth), and Yusuf Ahmed (drums & percussion)

Each a standout force in London’s vibrant jazz and experimental scenes, the trio blends rich harmonic and textural landscapes with rhythm-driven interplay and bold spontaneity:

    - Sheldon Agwu brings a unique blend of jazz guitar, ambient textures, and electronic influences, known for his genre-defying releases such as Kintsugi and Vtet live at Mu and Seeds of Sanctum.

    - Yusuf Ahmed is a versatile drummer and improviser whose playing draws from jazz, afro-funk, and world traditions.

    - Max Luthert, one of the UK’s most in-demand bassists, has performed with Nubya Garcia, Zara McFarlane, and Moses Boyd. His playing is fluid, grounded, and deeply expressive.

This one-off trio date at The Muddy Puddle promises boundary-pushing improvisation, lush grooves, and a meeting of minds at the intersection of jazz, ambient, and rhythm exploration.
